In 1977, the Seton Development Board (SDB), made up of 52 women was officially established. For over 43 years the women on the board have been supporting the community and the mission of Ascension Seton Medical Center. Today, we are so grateful for the entire community’s outpouring of support during this challenging time, including Seton Fund trustee Clifford Chiu and his wife Leigh Chiu, long standing Seton Development Board member who made a personal matching gift of $10,000 to support our caregivers’ immediate family needs or hardships from COVID-19.
Thanks to their generous gift, contributions were matched dollar-for-dollar, up to $10,000. The match was met with several gifts from the Seton Development Board members and was closed out by Luci Baines Johnson and Ian Turpin.
As Clifford said, “We all benefit from Austin’s dedicated front-line caregivers who sacrifice themselves for us but incur added logistical & financial burden for their loved ones at home when they remain apart. Immediate relief is needed ahead of the virus’ peak.”
Inspired by the spirit of giving, SDB member, Ellen Sauer has made an additional $10,000 matching gift pledge to the COVID-19 Resource Fund.
We are so proud of the rich history of support from the Seton Development Board!
