On October 17th Charles D. Fraser, Jr, MD., Chief of Cardiothoracic Surgery, led a conversation with the leadership of the Texas Center for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease. The visioning series connected community leaders with the world-renowned surgeon and team leading the way in pediatric cardiovascular innovation right here in Central Texas through a partnership with Dell Children’s and Dell Medical School at the University of Texas.
The panel from the growing heart center included, Byron Holt, MD, Chief of Cardiology, Dan Stromberg, MD, Director of Critical Care and Erin Gottlieb, MD, Chief of Cardiac Anesthesia, answering big picture questions on why pediatric complex cardiovascular care is so needed in Central Texas and how the program is being built in an innovative way to care for patients with their long term outcomes as priority.
The visioning series empowered guests to think big and to engage with the rising needs and philanthropic opportunity within the Texas Center for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease. Senator Kirk Watson introduced Dr. Fraser and his affirming presence was a signal to the community that this is a critical moment for pediatric healthcare and our community must answer the call.
